Hiding behind the Romanesque Revival courthouse by Williamsport architect Wagner is the churchlike two-story volume of LeBrun's original courthouse that was constructed when Bloomsburg became the county seat. Government growth caused a post–Civil War addition at the rear, and in 1891 the Richardsonian front block was built that dominates the street with its soaring clock tower. It is a sturdy brick pile, enlivened with Hummelstown brownstone trim and rich foliate carving entwining the date on the gable. On the second floor is preserved the courtroom of Napoleon LeBrun's original courthouse.
