The original Presbyterian church was a Georgian chapel built on the site of the Yorks house (
CO10); it gave way to a Greek temple by Napoleon LeBrun, who was building the courthouse (see CO7) at the same time. The present church is Victorian Gothic in its colorful Hummelstown brownstone laid in random courses but its style looks to the later historical revivals. Mathias Geist of Pottstown was the builder. The nearby Romanesque Revival building (1893) at 401 S. Market Street was the general store of the Snyder and Magee company.
