The stone, pyramidal, iron furnace in the backyard of what was Elias Baker's stone office-storehouse, approximately one-tenth of a mile from Baker's mansion (
BL19), is now surrounded by suburban houses and yards, making it a most unusual lawn ornament. When built, the furnace was adjacent to Mill Run, which supplied the power to turn the bellows. The other plantation buildings, such as workers' housing, and barns have been demolished. The three-bay, gable-roofed office building has rudimentary corner quoins and an exceptionally long lintel over the entrance.
