This Academic Gothic multipurpose building was erected as a memorial to those graduates and former students who gave their lives in World War I. Students and faculty as well as alumni and governing board members assisted with the digging of the basement. In 1935, with PWA funds, the ownership was transferred from the alumni association to Michigan State.
