The contemporary light yellowish-brown and gray sandstone ranch house, essentially a long rectangular form with rounded corners bisected by a shorter, similarly round-cornered rectangle, was appropriate for its original owner, aerial photography pioneer Talbert Abrams (1895–1990). Abrams founded the Abrams Instrument Corporation and Abrams Aerial Survey Corporation in 1923. He explained that the shape of an airplane's shadow on the upper surface of a cloud bank as he and his wife, Leota, were flying at fifteen thousand feet inspired the plan of this house.
