The largest and most lavish Tudor Revival house in the subdivision is the thirty-five-room Harper house. The turreted and gabled light yellowish- and grayish-brown Indiana sandstone house has a slate roof and ornamental clustered chimneys. Marble, woodcarving, mosaics, and frescoes decorate the interior. The site is landscaped with pools, a fountain, gazebo, and sunken garden. It was built for Harold F. Harper (1881–1949), president and general manager of the Motor Wheel Company, and his wife, Ragna Mickelson (1880–1953).
