This four-story red brick dormitory, housing 184 students, study and recreation areas, and snack bar, brings postmodernism to Upper Michigan. The division of the rectangular building into four staggered sections lends the hall a domestic character similar to the miners' vernacular houses that surround it. Moreover, the clearly defined entrance, paucity of windows, southerly orientation, and steeply pitched roof suit it to its northern climate.
