A pedimented portico with paired giant Ionic columns pretentiously flanks the entrance of this house, following the tenets of Academic Classicism. Ionic corner pilasters, a cornice ornamented with swags, modillioned eaves line, and a carved swag over the entrance further embellish the neighborhood's most imposing house. It was built for the son of the president of the Oval Wood Dish Company, his wife, Lola, and their five children. In 1929 the Hull house was converted into four apartments. In 1999, Barb and Hank Rishel acquired the house and restored it for use as a bed-and-breakfast, which opened in 2003.
