The original house is believed to have been built for Samuel Druin, an English barber who worked for the Randolphs of Tuckahoe. The modest one-and-one-half-story hall-parlor dwelling was built on land near Tuckahoe plantation. The older section, now at the rear of the building and visible from the adjacent subdivision road, is identified by its large exterior chimneys with tiled shoulders. An 1880s Italianate addition, built by the Duval family, dominates the front. Possibly one of the oldest yeoman farmer's houses left in the county, the evolved Duval-Druin House was carefully rehabilitated in 1994.
