Paradise, built for Dr. Thomas Patterson, is a two-story weatherboarded frame I-house surrounded by large subdivision houses that were built in the early 1990s. Several early outbuildings stand at the rear of the property. A former resident, Mrs. Tucker Carrington, taught first and second grade in the basement until Tuckahoe School was finished in the late 1940s. Tuckahoe School is a sharp contrast to the frame house. The two-tone yellow-tan brick school is one of the finest Moderne buildings in the county. The main entrance features a conical roof and a steel-rimmed covered entry with freestanding steel letters spelling out “Tuckahoe School.”
