Throughout the country, newspaper companies often clothed their buildings in architectural forms that suggested that they were really an element of government (or equal to it). The setback of this PWA Moderne building and the wide steps leading up to the entrance enhance its image as a public building. The Press-Citizen building has a raised center pavilion, with the body of the brick sections to each side containing narrow panels filled with glass brick. The windows to the side and rear are all of glass brick, placed close to the face of the brick walls. At the rear a truck ramp leads down to the basement delivery room.
