c. 1920. On the grounds of Mount Mercy College, near northeast corner of 17th St. and K Ave. N.E.

The Ten Commandments are memorialized in a templelike pavilion composed of a tile-and-quartzite base from which rise primitive columns supporting a Romanesque-inspired sequence of arches. The composition culminates in a sphere coated in brilliant colors—red, blue, green, and shimmering gold. Nearby one will discover a second folly, an arched rock grotto.
