Sutherland Square is an upper-middle-class suburban district of the 1960s and later which maintains the quality of openness and landscape design of the early suburban districts. Some of the houses are low-spreading stone-and-brick versions of the California ranch house; others exhibit a modern image, reminiscent of the post-World War II houses of the Californian Richard J. Neutra.
