The Walter D. Moses music store occupied this brick Romanesque Revival building during most of its history. The firm commissioned an attractive but seemingly incongruous modernist storefront and interior renovation in the 1950s. The 1708 Gallery undertook a sophisticated adaptation of the first-floor space for its purposes in 1994.
