Standing across the quadrangle from the original School for Girls, this building responds to the earlier buildings, with its roof forms and connecting walkways. However, its slightly larger-scale, reinforced-concrete construction and decorative motifs make it distinct. The breadfruit bas-relief above the entrance originally blended with the facade but became a more assertive design element after it was painted in the early 1970s by Calvin Nary. In 1990, the auditorium was upgraded and a wing with soundproof rehearsal rooms was added, following the plans of Daniel Mann Johnson and Mendenhall.
