A modern regionalist design, Lihue Public Library is distinguished by its wide fascia and paraboloid roof that sweeps up from battered, lava-rock-veneer walls. The T-shaped building houses meeting rooms in the front wing and offices and the library in the rear. The roof's broad eaves amply shelter pedestrians from the elements.
