An extremely impressive work by Richmond's leading turn-of-the-century firm, the YWCA building is so elegant that one might think it was a private club. The basic form is a Renaissance palazzo of five bays. It is built of brick with limestone trim. The detailing—for example, the entrance porch—is a mixture of Italian and Federal Revival motifs.
