This magnificent Beaux-Arts building essentially takes the form of a Roman triumphal arch. The coffers of its deep, four-story barrel-vaulted entrance are decorated with roundels that incorporate Labrador retrievers—making this perhaps Richmond's only building with a canine motif in granite. The interior contains a spectacular coffered ceiling that frames an octagonal glass dome.
