200 block of King St.

Lower King Street contains a group of early commercial buildings and warehouses not as important individually as they are for their unity as a group. Most are three stories high and three bays wide. On the north side, they date from c. 1803 (numbers 217 and 215), c. 1810 (number 207, built by William Bartleman, and number 205), and 1851 (no. 201, built by William Bayne). On the south side, they date from c. 1800 (number 210, built by John Ramose), 1798 (numbers 208 and 206, built by George Gilpin, and numbers 204 and 202, built by Bernard Chequire), and c. 1802–1810 (number 200, built by Jacob Hoffman).
