Southern National Bank, before it was absorbed into Prosperity Bank in 2006, built this bank and its branches as replicas of buildings designed by Thomas Jefferson. This bank is Monticello. The adjacent Museum of Southern History at 14080 Southwest Freeway (it faces Commerce Green Boulevard and backs up to Monticello) is Poplar Forest. And the bank's adjoining corporate headquarters at Commerce Green and Sugar Creek Center Boulevard was planned to be the entire lawn of the University of Virginia. Houston architects Kirksey designed all components in tribute to the vision of Stewart Morris, the bank's chairman and the retired chairman of his family-owned business, Stewart Title Company.
