Between 1716 and 1725. 1969–1970 and later, restoration. Moved to site adjacent to the Portsmouth Historical Society

This simple one-room schoolhouse—and a tiny one-room at that—is the oldest extant school building in the state. Nothing about it communicates its purpose; with a plank door in one corner and a single, off-center window adjacent, under a long, low flank gable, it could be an all-purpose shed.
