This frame house has an unusual W-shaped plan, with a foreshortened central wing that is repeated in only one other house in the Greene County village of Nineveh (c. 1880; 1800 block of Browns Creek Road). It is not known if a local carpenter favored this style and adapted it from a favorite pattern book, such as E. C. Hussey's Home Building of 1875. A mansard roof, zigzag-shaped moldings across the windows, corner boards, and a front porch linking all three sections complete the ornament. A frame carriage house stands to the west. The house was originally built for Adam Hewitt and has been owned by the Huffmans for nearly forty years.
