MERIDIAN HIGH SCHOOL AND ROSS COLLINS CAREER AND TECHNICAL CENTER

P. J. Krouse designed schools across Meridian, including the large, red brick Meridian High School and the adjacent Ross Collins Career and Technical Center. The latter is a Streamline Moderne building constructed of incised concrete (with replacement windows). At the center of its five-part composition, the tower-like entrance features vertical fins, glass block, and a metal canopy. On the west side of the high school, the substantial Ray Stadium (1930s) is also a concrete construction, built with funding from the Federal Emergency Administration for Public Works (FEAPW).
