The white granite–clad Postmodern skyscraper, built for Comerica, culminates in a distinctive Flemish-inspired crow-stepped intersecting gable roof. The forty-three-story office building topped with a tall roof surpasses the Penobscot Building (
WN13) in height and is Michigan's tallest office building. Burgee and Johnson are noted for their standout Postmodern designs of skyscrapers. In 1979 Johnson won the first Pritzker Architecture Prize for his fifty years of buildings including corporate structures.
