The premier suburban corporate campus of its generation in Greater Boston, Wellesley Office Park set a new standard for planning and architectural quality for this development model. One of the earliest projects of the Beacon Companies, Wellesley Office Park benefited from the guidance of Pietro Belluschi as architect and design consultant. His five four-story brick buildings with orangish-red brick or tile and exposed Corten steel set the tone for a sensitive engagement with the natural surroundings of this site at the intersection of Routes 128 and 9. The Jung/Brannen firm, later one of the region's most productive, got its start here, serving as the executant to Belluschi at first and then providing their own designs in later buildings.
