Suffolk University Law School

1999, Tsoi/Kobus and Associates. 120 Tremont St.

In the heart of downtown, opposite the Granary Burying Ground, the Suffolk University Law School, the nation's third largest school training the legal profession, is a major force in the Greater Boston area. A contextual nod to the surrounding environment, the prominent limestone convex facade, projecting from the central part of the building, houses the three-story library on the upper floors. A metal colonnade and deeply projecting cornice top this blockwide structure. Provided with state-of-the-art technology as the principal means of communication, its interiors are enhanced by panoramic views of Beacon Hill and its surroundings. In addition to the library's facilities, which enrich the lives of current students and also serve as a resource for local law firms and alumni, a bookstore on the street level, accessible from the lobby, serves the entire community.
