Cleveland's imagery here is the then-popular two-story Craftsman dwelling; the foundation was constructed of river boulders, and above is a surface clad in narrow clapboard sheathing, with a shingled surface above that. The tour de force of the house is its remarkable boulder chimney, split into two parts on the second floor to make way for a small window and then rejoined by an arch at the top. This dwelling is one of the outstanding examples of the Craftsman mode in the United States.
