This single-story, two-room structure was originally sheathed in board and batten but was covered with clapboard at the time of a kitchen addition. The south entrance is in a gabled vestibule, with a door enlarged to accommodate funerals. The windows have pedimented lintels. In 1976, after the open belfry began to deteriorate, the bell (1912, C. B. Bell Company, Hillsboro, Ohio) was moved to a nearby rock pedestal. Since its 1949 closing the school has become a political, social, and religious center.
