Two stories of uncut, uncoursed rubblestone rise to a stepped parapet on the third-story square tower of this church, for which parishioners hauled thirty-three wagonloads of local dark volcanic rock. The well-crafted rustic church has carefully detailed door and window openings and fishscale shingle trim.
