Innkeeper Joseph Bailey moved two, two-story log hotels together to form a T-shaped boarding-house for lumbermen. John J. Jerome bought the inn around 1900 and, perhaps with the help of Denver architect Frederick J. Sterner, converted it to a resort. They added the clapboard siding and full-length, shingled, wrap-around veranda. In 1907 the Girls Friendly Society bought it as a summer vacation retreat. Since 1948 Katherine Ramus has operated the inn, which is heated only by a double fireplace, as a summer resort.
