This vernacular rendition of an Italian villa in pressed and cornered brick is dominated by square corner towers and a recessed central loggia and entry. The little-changed interior contains courtrooms and is replete with many-pointed deer and elk heads, golden oak wood-work, and imposing dark wood display cabinets for mineral specimens. The Baerresens designed a similar courthouse for Otero County.
