1926–1927. 300 W. Capitol St.

This two-story brick Italian Renaissance-styled station replaced a Queen Anne depot and provided a formal entrance for the city’s travelers to complement the Edwards Hotel (JM28). The multilevel station received passengers from the elevated railroad tracks, a 1925 improvement that allowed automobile traffic from downtown to pass underneath to the booming suburbs of West Jackson.
