1929, John G. Becker and H. F. Templeton. 3 S. Randolph St.

This Gothic Revival design was built of limestone blocks. The craftsmanship of German-born stoneworker John Willeke can be seen in the lancet-shaped windows and doorways, along with the arcaded two-story office wing with its crenellated parapet that runs perpendicular to the nave. A sturdy, buttressed square tower contains a bell salvaged from Oscar Ruffini’s 1884 Tom Green County Courthouse. A brick-clad education building with cast-concrete detail (2013, Kinney Franke Architects) faces W. Harris Avenue.
