1912, William E. Fisher and Arthur A. Fisher. 919 Race St.

This large, two-story stucco house in the Mediterranean Revival Beaux-Arts tradition has two wings angled to face the mountains. The carriage house supposedly was built a block away, at 777 Vine Street, because Mrs. Toll did not want horses and their flies and droppings anywhere near the house. The carriage house was enlarged to become the Henry W. Toll, Jr., House (1920, William Fisher).
