Built on a cliff overlooking the Dallas skyline, the Belmont is the last of the motor lodges that once lined Fort Worth Avenue. The entrance drive is flanked by a pair of flat-roofed, white-stuccoed modernist buildings with strong, vertical, chimney-like features. Once inside, the driving court is ringed with a Mediterranean village of sixty-four picturesque, red tile-roofed guest rooms organized into curved buildings that look like individual cottages. Dilbeck effortlessly blended these unrelated styles. A restoration in 2005 transformed the Belmont into a trendy spot with a bar and smokehouse restaurant (landscaping by Hocker Design Group).
