The Spanish Colonial Revival style was popular for civic projects in the 1920s. Set on a narrow lot between Drexel Drive and Hackberry Creek, the irregular, picturesque massing breaks the substantial structure down into residential-scaled units that fit appropriately with the neighborhood. Plain stucco walls are accented by concentrations of baroque stone detail at the entrance and at the upper stages of the tower as it steps back in three stages.
