Designed in a Spanish colonial manner popular in the 1920s and deemed appropriate for its proximity to the Alamo, the auditorium's symmetrical facade is clad in Indiana lime stone, with tile-covered domes atop the twin towers set at either end. A steel-framed dome dominates the interior auditorium space, which seats more than 8,000 people.
