This Colonial Revival showplace, built for Agnes O'Brien West, bears a strong resemblance to Jules Leffland's Claude Branch House in Edna ( BE44). Framed by ornamental date palm trees, the house looks just like the kind of showplace a Texas cattle king, or his daughter, would have built at the turn of the twentieth century to impress small-town neighbors—and keep up with the domestic competition.
