This striking little building looks like it stepped out of a movie set with all of the emphasis on the facade. The fine quality of the massive stonework is typical of Giles's work, with rock-faced blocks forming most of the wall surface contrasting with the more carefully cut stone of the quoins, the crenellated parapet, and the fine segmental-arched cornices around the four windows. The building has found a new use as the county historical museum.
