Northwood

Northwood

Northwood, situated on the east bank of the Shell Rock River, had its economic future assured when it became the county seat of Worth County in 1863, and when the Central Railroad of Iowa was completed through the town. The town was laid out in 1857 and again in 1858, and it was described as being “regularly laid out, with wide handsome streets.” 18
