The first “monument” to greet visitors when they enter Oxford Junction is the DX Service Station. At 215 First Avenue North is the Carter house (c. 1878). The style in this instance is Eastlake with a shed-roofed entrance porch, steep gabled roofs above, and extended outrigger wood struts supporting the gable ends.
