The rough board-and-batten walls of this oneand-one-half-story, gable-roofed house, which may be Helvetia's earliest framed structure, have never been stained or painted. Cabinetmaker Rudolph Zumbach, who was born here, was its best-known occupant. His “shop” is a rear addition that connects the house to an early barn.
