The brick walls of this perky little Gothic Revival church support an exaggeratedly steep gable roof. Buttresses on the corners of the rectangular building terminate in pinnacles that replicate the larger silhouette of the belfry astride the gable. Though small, the church commands attention through its vertical proportions and its ridge-top site. It is one of the few buildings known to have been designed by one of the state's first architects, S. M. Howard of nearby Wheeling, who listed it in an 1878 advertisement. The building was restored in 1986 and adapted to new use as a town hall and community center.
