Built for B. A. Pierce on land high above the mouth of Wilson Creek at the New River, this wooden house blends Gothic Revival with Italianate features. The original L-shaped dwelling of two stories over a high basement has bay windows, gable-end walls with circular attic windows, decorative bargeboards, and a wide frieze with paired brackets. The house was acquired by local merchant and gristmill owner Alfred “Allie” Parsons in 1904, at which time the one-story side wing was apparently added to the house. The original front porch posts have been replaced with square brick columns.
