Although far less prevalent among brick factory buildings than either the punch of windows in a wall or the projecting vertical pier with windows inset on spandrel panels, this type of wall construction, in which the windows sit on continuous granite coursings, does appear occasionally. Whereas the alternate organizations of the wall have justifications in structure, this banding of the wall in horizontals is essentially aesthetic, emphasized here by the restriction of the treatment to the street fronts. This building was absorbed into the Davol Rubber Company plant on the corner diagonally opposite.
