Despite additions, this is yet another typical two-and-one-half-story, five-bay, central-chimney Federal house, which is very grand for such a remote country location. A commanding pilastered and fanlighted door centers an elevation in which the four openings to either side are set off from the central axis about as far as this compositional format permits, thus increasing its grand presence.
