A short distance from Shoaff's Mill, pedestrians can walk over the restored covered bridge that was moved to the park from its original location a few miles to the south. Constructed in 1890 by George Harting with Burr trusses, the bridge rests on a pair of single wooden arches that span its eighty-one-foot length and is ventilated by open space beneath the eaves. According to historians Benjamin and June Evans, Clay's Bridge is characteristic of Perry County's fourteen covered bridges: “barn red vertical board siding, white-trimmed portals, a roof of cedar shakes, and a deck of randomwidth, length-wise planks reinforced with steel.”
