c. 1884; 1949, Walter H. Mallorie. 150 Main St.

N. N. Moss Company has sold furniture and carpeting at this site since 1884. The nineteenth-century portion at the rear of the store is a brick building with round-arched windows at the second story. In the 1940s, Paul and Loretta Moss, after a buying trip to New York where they saw recently constructed Moderne buildings, hired Sharon architect Walter Mallorie to update the facade of their store. The upper section consists of a smooth limestone cube pierced by a narrow two-story window framed with fluted columns and stepped reveals. A continuous canopy with the store's name along its top protects shoppers from inclement weather while they window shop.
