An artifact from Greensboro's prosperous 1870s, this unusual and intact storefront and residence is adjacent to a small creek at the rear and one building away from the Monongahela River. The dry goods store served river travelers as well as locals, advertising that they accepted produce for goods. The building is two-and-one-half stories tall and built of red brick, with wooden brackets lining the shaped parapet and the six bays of the basically rectangular building that abut the sidewalk. Round-arched windows on the upper stories and segmental-arched windows at street level are complemented by impressed brick panels.
