This three-bay, two-story farmhouse of random-cut sandstone has interior end chimneys and a two-over-two-room plan. The builder was probably lawyer John Woods (1758–1816), son of George Woods, who prepared the plan for the Golden Triangle in 1784. Located high on Hazelwood Hill, the house once enjoyed a view of the wooded Monongahela shore before it succumbed to the later Hazelwood coke works.
